All the strength and force of man comes from his faith in things unseen.

He who believes is strong; he who doubts is weak.

Strong convictions precede great actions.

It is within my power either to serve God or not to serve him. Serving him,

I add to my own good and the good of the world.

Not serving him,

I forfeit my own good and deprive the world of that good, which was my power to create.

Although the threads of my life have often seemed knotted,

I know, by faith,

that on the other side of the embroidery there is a crown.

An optimist is a person who sees only the lights in the picture,

whereas a pessimist sees only the shadows.

An idealist, however, is one who sees the light and the shadows,

but in addition sees something else:

the possibility of changing the picture,

of making the lights prevail over the shadows.
